I think your comment: "It is at this point when I think many new weavers give up...." is right on target. And it doesn't just apply to tapestry, does it. When things get hard, are confusing and unclear, or seem full of unknown consequences--that's when it's so tempting to throw up the hands and say, "OK, I give up!" and leave it at that. Yes, sometimes, there's indeed a time to let go. But often it's just letting a day pass. Or a week.
