Congratulations America; the rest-of-the-world says thanks.
I echo your sentiments, Kathy! This is a very happy morning for this Georgia native who remembers the sad days of separate bathrooms for whites and coloreds, who grew up in a rural county in which no black person lived, and who didn't have an occasion to talk to a person of color until college. This wonderful national embrace of this articulate and gifted man, as well as his beautiful family, gives me renewed hope for the spirit and potential of our country.

this is a great morning. i feel so very HOPEFUL for the future and for my kids' future. and now i'm crying again. this is incredible.
Yes... answered prayers. When I was making calls to make sure people voted yesterday, many said, yes, they had voted and now they were praying. I specifically prayed for the future of my children and grandchildren. Good, good tears! Thank God they are happy ones today!
Happy and so relieved. It was surreal to be watching President-Elect Obama's acceptance speech with my 93 year old step-dad, and to see how moved he was (moved enough to stay up 4 hours past his usual bedtime!) It's not only the young or minorities who needed to see that we can all aspire to greatness.
