My dear husband gave me Weaving Tapestries in Rural Ireland for my birthday. A beautiful book, and a good read!
I have enjoyed all of the Maisie Dobbs mysteries. They take place in post-war England. This is the 5th one, and it begins with Maisie taking a tapestry class!
This is a spread from Muriel Foster's Fishing Diary. I found a used copy through Amazon a few month's ago. It is out of print, but if you can find an affordable copy, it is a wonderful inspiration for anyone who keeps a sketch book.

I'll look for the Dobbs book...am not familar with her. I also enjoyed the Irish tapestry book...wrote a review for one of the weaving mags about it last year.
And...you've pointed to ONE MORE landmark on our parallel lives with your other book!! I've recently gotten several artist journals and field books through Amazon...should mention those to you privately.

I loved that Irish Tapestry book. Between the amazing pictures and the wonderful exploration of weaving culture, what a winner!
As far as artist/nature journals, check out Keeping a Nature Journal by Clare Walker Leslie and Charles E Roth, and A Trail through Leaves or A Life in Hand by Hannah Hinchman. Her work is just plain inspiring.
I've still got two feet of snow. Glad to know spring is somewhere!
