I am an American Made nominee for the Martha Stewart competition. I decided to go out on that particular limb, because it is time Martha's audience discovers the medium of handwoven tapestry, I think! So, between now and September 13th, you can click on the big round green link at the top right and go vote for me! I have no expectation of 'winning' anything, but I think perhaps, if I got enough votes, someone at Martha Stewart might try to learn more about the medium. That may be stretching too far, but who knows? If you don't occasionally stretch, you get pretty stiff.
You can vote up to 6 times per day. (That little green arrow at the bottom will tell you how many votes you have left.)

Can you put the link to your page directly on your blog? There are a lot of participants in this thing! It might help people find it. Thanks so much for doing it! I read your reasoning on the tapestry2005 list this morning and am glad you put yourself out there! I'll vote for your many times. I promise.
Rebecca, the big green circle badge at the top right should take you directly to my page. If I put it just in a post, it may get lost in other posts during the voting time, but the badge will stay there. Did you try to go there from it? It should work. Thanks so much for voting! I truly believe that we weavers are such a small number of artist that what one does affects us all. So I hope this will be one of Martha's "Good Things."

When I get the Calendar series done, I'll have a printed calendar of some sort available. I might do prints. I only do prints of my paintings that are no longer available (as in, sold). I guess I could do prints of tapestries that are no longer available, too. I'll think on it as I weave! (It is hard to capture the tactile nature of tapestry in a print, though, don't you think?)To the loom...
I agree: I recently did a painting that had some threads in it (mixed media) and I don't think the camera captured them, so it all depends.
I have seen some tapestries that look good on camera, can see the weave structure, etc..
BTW, I went to the page where you can vote & you can STILL vote and it's the 14th? SO I tossed in another 6 votes...
